Chelokee, the horse that won the inaugural Barbaro Stakes last year, has incurred a dislocated ankle much like the one that eventually killed Barbaro. Like Barbaro, he has a long road to recovery that certainly does not guarantee his survival. Both horses were trained by the same man.
Clearly, there is only one explanation for this hyper-Canadian-ironic event: Barbaro is an angel of vengeance, out to strike down all horses that try to rise above him. Do not worship false idols like Chelokee; they will be smited.
Do not watch the Kentucky Derby this weekend or else Big Brown will be electrocuted by a television camera cable. Do not watch Mr. Ed reruns for fear of… uhm… people named Ed will get inexplicable rashes in their nether regions. Yes, that will do.
Now kneel before Barbaro. KNEEL!
