I Got the Horse Right H… Oops. Moving On.

Hillary Clinton enthusiastically picked a filly named Eight Belles to win the Kentucky Derby and compared herself to the horse. Eight Belles finished second. The winner was the favorite, Big Brown.

Eight Belles collapsed immediately after crossing the finish line, and was euthanized shortly thereafter.

I’m pretty sure that makes John McCain Barbaro in my previous post on the subject. Every time you think the SOB is dead, he rises up again and smites his enemies. Big Brown better keep his head on a swivel. There’s one more sprint before the long wait until the final race for the Crown. He’d do well to marshal his energy for the much longer run at the end.

There May Be No Horse Before Barbaro

Chelokee, the horse that won the inaugural Barbaro Stakes last year, has incurred a dislocated ankle much like the one that eventually killed Barbaro. Like Barbaro, he has a long road to recovery that certainly does not guarantee his survival. Both horses were trained by the same man.

Clearly, there is only one explanation for this hyper-Canadian-ironic event: (more…)
